RENEWABLE ENERGY Today I shall do something different by letting someone else write my editorial.  Not just someone else, but seven Queenslanders who all hold degrees in science or engineering.  Their names are D.J. Buchbach, Alex Campbell, Jim Elliot, Steve Howard, Don Mackintosh, Bob McCulloch and Des Pane.   These Queenslanders have written a remarkable open letter to the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition. I am going to share a shortened version with you, my alert listeners. We are a group of retired scientists and engineers in Queensland, and we are alarmed at the direction our country

Political Dementia

In a world that is moving ever so close to nuclear war Australian politicians have their heads still buried in the sand. Globally there are serious conflicts, some of which have been ongoing for decades, others just emerging as flashpoints with the potential to escalate into civil war. The recent threats from North Korea should stir our political mob into developing some rational defense strategy rather than relying on outdated agreements made decades ago with once strong allies. The playing field and the players have changed. America is a declining world power, Great Britain is no longer ‘great’ and

Green Propaganda is Costly Here we go again, the expected critical onslaught and venom against the announced Coalition government’s revised energy plan from Labor, the Greens and the rest of the misguided, brainwashed activists’ who can’t see the wood for the trees; i.e., if any are left because global tree clearing continues at an alarming rate by reducing the planet’s ability to absorb carbon dioxide and convert it to oxygen. Yes, Turnbull has just pulled another ‘rabbit out of the hat’ and again by placing his metaphorical cat amongst the policy pigeons; it’s really about time all this politically

“Electrickery”  The topic on everybody’s minds at the moment is energy prices for households and for businesses. Only, in case anybody doesn’t understand; what is a business? I work for a broadcasting business. They are a vehicle for entrepreneurs’ who by taking personal financial risks and other administrative burdens onto themselves they strive to innovate society and make some extra money for themselves and their families. Society is benefited by the products or services we consume as inputs and society gains from the enhancements through finished items or services supplied to others; in our case broadcasting to reward our

Yet again we the voting public are confronted with news of another ‘security breech’ where cyber hackers compromised computers of a national security contractor in July last year as reported by Sky News. Apparently the Government’s Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) only became aware of the hack last November. Amazing! The Defence Annual report 2012-13 contained an article entitled ‘New centre to strengthen cyber security’. The article continued saying ‘Cyber threats continue to evolve at a dramatic rate, so cyber defence remains a top national security priority for the Australian Government’. So what’s new since those prophetic statements were

Stupidity or a Con Job ……..

Australia is fast becoming a manufacturing wasteland with many business operators caving in under the exorbitant cost of energy so it’s no surprise to see them close or take their business offshore. Its plainly obvious to we lay people that governments of all persuasions either care little for this country and the hard workers who slave to keep the money flowing or don’t have the common sense or political acumen to govern. Politicians, once elected have a free pass to make foolish policy decisions, to place the country in jeopardy, to exploit interests they benefit from, to change rules

Go the NIMBYS! The State Government is encouraged by the Business Council of Australia to think big when it comes to our future but at what cost! Who pays, it’s you the voter-taxpayer not the Business Community? Don’t they now know that any assets of value that was producing rivers of gold income streams for the Government are now gone, after already being flogged-off by ‘fire sale’ Mike!  Our asset cupboard is now Baird!  [Taxation being the only remaining means to raise state revenue]. Reported in the Daily Telegraph’s front page of October 9; Think again by Mathew Benns;

Human Rights Commission!

Who are the real offenders when it comes to acrimonious propaganda being shoved in the face of every day Australians? Watching the latest tax payer funded advertising campaign by the Human Rights Commission one can only determine that it be disbanded and the bigots who continually put out this divisive propaganda should be deprecated for such actions. The HRC are the racists, they are creating such division within our nation and then blaming ordinary Australians, living ordinary lives for normal lifestyle choices. Politically correct, anti social bullshit is constantly being pushed in the face of ordinary Australians by the

Cracked – Fractured – Broken

How else should one describe the disorder the world is experiencing and how has it reached the point of no return? Since the end of the Second World War it was hoped that peace would prevail throughout the globe and societies would embrace the opportunity to advance themselves and prosper. Fast forward to 2017 and take a snapshot of life on planet earth. It’s not what the masses envisaged. Conflict, discord and dissension are the norm and humans are becoming more and more desensitised to the violence, rape and pillage on the streets with no end in sight of

Dumb, Dumb and Dumber – Political Insanity

As summer approaches the days get longer and temperatures rise it seems that our Pollys are suffering from heat stroke and delusional aspirations when it comes to their latest brain snap. The Daily Mail reports Islamic extremists born overseas will be given a deportation ultimatum under a new Australian government plan. Foreign extremists will be given one month to enrol in a deradicalisation program or risk being deported, The Daily Telegraph reported. Community Protection Intervention Orders could be used to enforce bans and curfews on extremists, otherwise they will be at risk of having visas cancelled. Excuse me while I find

Politicisation of Lifestyle Choices: LGBTIHJXYZ………? Human beings are forever making personal choices, choices about where they live, the car they drive, the food they eat, who to bank with, which horse to back and the list goes on. Just imagine if all these choices were subject to political discussion and choices were made by a group of elected politicians, what a shemozzle that would create, parliament would grind to a halt, although it’s not far from that now with all the childish bickering and posturing carry on. Add to the list culture and gender wars and a subject that

The senator Matt Canavan, ‘mamma did it’ scandal has already made the Italian press and for political junkies the section 44 constitutional crises are the political gift that never fails to enthral. Contrary to my earlier off-hand prediction that Australia’s very own Doctor Christmas; Senator Riccardo Di Natale wasn’t the third victim of the Australian parliaments’ most recent and ongoing democratically damaging political scandal; that being the constitutional question of a candidate’s overseas loyalty. Although, I did get the country right, Richard wasn’t so silly and knew in-advance of the potential pitfalls for his parliamentary career and ensured

Is the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement not worth the paper it’s written on? Here goes. Despite the so called China – Australia Free Trade Agreement (CHAFTA) being in force, the continuing regulatory minefield that Australian companies must navigate to export agricultural foods into China [including where licences can seemingly be suspended at random and the rules can change overnight] has garnered another international victim because global dairy company giant, Parmalat’s Australian plant has been served with a suspension for its Chinese fresh milk export licence. This matter has come to our attention just days after the Australian infant milk

Beware the Creeping Tiger

China’s state-controlled Yanzhou Coal says the planned $US2.45 billion ($3.2B) purchase of Rio Tinto’s Hunter Valley coalmines by its Australian subsidiary, Yancoal, will give China a bigger say in coal price talks. Australia continues to sell off its abundant legacy of natural resources to the stealthy creep of the PRC and other nations. Soon we will no longer be masters of our own destiny but rather slaves to a dominant communist regime with global aspirations. Woe the day Australian governments began selling off Australia’s infrastructure and natural resources to foreign predators. Governments are selling your future to regimes that

Money, Money, Money

The Great Aussie Rip Off It’s all about money. Rich, young Chinese are one sector of Chinese society buying up big in Australia. According to the Daily Mail online they snap up 25% of all new properties on the market with 20% left empty. The housing market has become an investment cash cow for many foreign investors driving up property values as they compete amongst each other leaving Australian first home buyers unable to match their spending power. Australian governments, present and past have jeopardised the future of many young Australians by putting profit before its citizens welfare. The

Offended – Over What?

More Polly Waffle! How ridiculous and what a total waste of time and energy to have a senior government minister apologising over some glib comments made about same-sex marriage. Why is this even an issue? What is the entire hullabaloo about? The answer is, absolutely nothing. No wonder voters are turning their backs on politicians, especially the main stream mob. He said, you said, he did, you did, who cares, just get on with trying to manage the country. The Forgotten It’s wonderful news – our Polly’s are getting another pay rise of 2% and naturally they are at arm’s length from the decision makers who authorised this decision. It’s an amazing system that politicians have created where they get automatic pay increases adjudicated by the independent Remuneration Tribunal. Who put this Tribunal in place and who controls it? Yes you guessed it, the government! Apparently the Tribunal said it had received “notable increases in submissions” asking for pay rises “based at least in part on private sector remuneration” in a sign some public servants felt they weren’t

Blood on the Streets

When will Australian elected governments admit they got it wrong and are still getting it wrong when it comes to immigration policy by allowing radical activists, extremists and peoples with direct opposing views and radically violent beliefs to enter this country and settle here? The senseless killing of innocent people is a direct result of unchecked migration, unchecked subversion within Islamic communities, and migration of peoples from African countries who are enslaved to a violent existence. This is not necessarily their fault but rather the fault of their governments who openly encourage violence to support their power struggle. This

Freedom of Expression Denied

FREE SPEECH DENIED Since the dawn of mankind expression of emotion in one form or another has been a natural part of human interaction. Our government is denying all Australians the right to FREE speech. It’s worrying to think that in the few short years of man’s (oops! not politically correct I should have written ‘human’ for fear of being labeled ‘sexist’) development Australia has achieved such a high level of political correctness that we need an arbitrator to censor our daily expression of emotion. Laughable isn’t it? This expression of emotion whether it be in the form of

Australian Race Hate Laws

As the world is plagued by serious acts of violence aimed at each other for reasons best known only to themselves the Australian government is only fuelling the fire of hatred and disconnect by enacting laws like 18C. Governments should have no jurisdiction when it comes to FREE SPEECH or personal choices, likes and dislikes. By taking sides and legislating against an individual’s free speech and free choice in such a way they are empowering the very individuals who come to this country for help but in fact have no respect for our laws, traditions and way of life.
